Does the military allow you to wear watches that are not black?

Just wondering because I heard if they catch you with a watch that is not black then they’ll haze you for it.
Huh, well that’s reassuring then. I didn’t mean that they’ll punish me and all that but that I would get yelled at by my TI. I know they only sell black watches at the PX so I also assume only black watches were allowed for formal regulation. Thanks.

As stated from Army Regulation 670-1 1-14 A

"Soldiers may wear a wristwatch, a wrist identification bracelet, and a total of two rings
(a wedding set is considered one ring) with Army uniforms, unless prohibited by the
commander for safety or health reasons. Any jewelry soldiers wear must be conservative
and in good taste. Identification bracelets are limited to medical alert bracelets and
MIA/POW identification bracelets. Soldiers may wear only one item on each wrist."

In short, you are allowed to wear a different colored watch, as long as it is conservative and good taste. The rule of thumb is if you have to wonder if it will be wrong, you are most likely wrong.

But not in this case. Solid colors with minimum brand marks showing, and it is fine.

Military bootcamp training: meaning of breaking down and rebuilding someone personality?

While watching some military videos, some drill sergeants said that their purpose is to break down a civilian and then build up a soldier.

I don’t understand the meaning of "breaking down" someone personality. How is this achieved and what does it mean? I am looking for a psychological point of view explanation. I am hoping to find a military or veteran able to answer this question thoughtfully.

On the face in says BASE, he was an Austrian soldier and this was the watch given to him by the army. It has a black face and the strap is stainless steel. It still works perfectly! I cannot find anything on Google so any info about Base watches would be nice!

The problem I’m finding is that the year number 1945 is also used by Swiss Watch Makers as a reference number without it being anything to do with the year.

Your best course of action is to get the maker’s name and contact them.

Watch, "Carrier", it’s on netflix and it would provide good info on what the navy does for the ground forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
