Would my ipod nano be ok if I took it for a run while using the sports watch clip? I tend to sweat a lot, so would this damage my ipod?

I have an old Avia-tec sports watch. I can see how to set the time of the alarm, but not how to set the day. It is currently set to go off on Monday (the 'Mon' is flashing.) Can anyone help?
