    If this is a world military, there should be even more accents. In the original book, at the very end, Johnny Rico’s ethnicity is revealed. He is Philipino.

    Yes… Buenos Aires …
    Yes… Buenos Aires is where Rico is supposed to be from, even in the book (or at least that’s where his mother lives), though in the book he’s also Filipino, so where he’s from apparently doesn’t determine his ethnicity. Surely it doesn’t define Carl’s ethnicity, or Zander’s, who are also depicted as being from Argentina (Zander being unique to the movie/series continuities- Carl exists in the book as a friend of Rico’s back home, while Trooper Jenkins is a separate character).

    Well, he’s not caucasian, as far as I can judge, in this. At least, the voice actor sounds hispanic-american and his skin tone is darker than the majority of the cast… exceptions include Doc, of course, who would be the ‘token black guy’ somebody else referenced…
