I’ve had two of my Breitlings go to the factory for service and my experience on both occasions was one of 3-4 weeks not months.

I have several Breitlings, various types and 2 Panerai. I have traveled to some of the nastiest places on earth with mine and have gone through some rough times and no damage at all. Service time is no a big deal if you have other watches. They aren’t outfits.

BTW maybe some younger folks “upgrade” but those of us that use watches as something other than a status symbol don’t consider a Panerai as an upgrade just a new watch. My Breitlings are “work watches.” due to toughness.

    I agree with your …
I agree with your age group, as a very general rule we tend to sell Breitling to a younger customer, Breitling are often a watch purchased for 21st gifts, and exactly right, very often a watch part exchanged for Panerai, IWC and Rolex. A very diverse and interesting brand and perhaps introduce and change models a little too often for some people? Other brands may hold residual value a little better if bought at the RRP.

Great comments, as always much appreciated

    Hi AC

I agree, it can be frustrating on the rare ocasion there is a problem under gurantee watches can take considerable time to return from repair.

In our experience problems or substantial accidental damage is rare.

In a vast majority watches perform very well until service intervals (3-5 years) we have a team of specialist Watchmakers for general service or repairs, and some companies have official service centres, if ever you need any help or advise please feel free to call us!

    As a Breiting owner …
As a Breiting owner and a Panerai owner here all nice swiss watches are prone to accidental damage…Also almost every brand has to go back to factory for service and repairs unless you bring it in to a certified watch repairer to do work on it…Service time for swiss watches usually take a good 1-2 months, very common and normal…

    Breitling watches …
Breitling watches seem to be popular with people 25 to 30 years of age. It’s watch you end up trading in to upgrade against a Panerai or IWC. Their big chunky size makes it venerable to accidental damages such as hitting the corwn. Beware when buying Breitling because if there are any issue and it has to go to the factory, then it will be there for months. Not a very practical purchase.

    I have to disagree …
I have to disagree with your statement about the two-tone Chronomat. If you check with all chronologs, including their website, the Breilting 2-tone bracelet is not solid 18K gold, nor are the crown or push pieces. The bezel is however, and that includes the all gold bezel.

    Thank you for your …
Thank you for your comment.People often get chronograph and chronometer mixed up, a chronometer denotes an especially accurate watch and are usually supplied with an official certificate from an independant testing office such as the C.O.S.C. and a chronograph is a “stopwatch” as stated.

    Isn’t a chronograph …
Isn’t a chronograph meant to mean the accuracy of the watch and not a “stopwatch”?

Very informative video only there seems to be a mistake – surely the presenter, Richard Smith can’t have been in the jewellery business for 20 years – he doesn’t look nearly old enough!!
