It always tripped me out. I use to live in kinston,nc 20mi away is seymore johnson afb. anyways the f15 use to land at the kinston airport kiso. one night I caught the ground crew and asked them why they were there. they said fuel but to the f15’s sj was only like 2 min away. it always drove me crazy. srry I relize this has nothing to do with vid the black van brung back the memory.

@Mjas5150 I think …
@Mjas5150 I think it’s earlier than the ’80s. From what I remember the F-15 shed it’s turkey feathers early on….almost immediately. They kept falling off if I remember that right. That would be before 1981 when I was in.

This is great. It …
This is great. It brings back memories. I was stationed there from 77-79. East Germany would always test our response. Zulu Alert would always scramble to intercept them and they would run away. Cat and Mouse games were played frequently. They would come out and we had to chase them back. For those who have never had their freedom taken away. You have the gall to put this pilot down because of his ears. He would gladly lay his life so you can have yours. I was a crew chief, just like SSgt. Dew.

@Mjas5150 That’s what I would have guess. Late 70’s – Early 80’s. My old man worked on F-15, and he wore the familiar camo pattern as far back as I can remember.

Flying point 9 …
Flying point 9 means the sortie is going to last approx. 50 minutes. If the pilot said for example 1.0 that translates to 1 hour flight time.
