March 9th, 2010 | by admin |
So you finally made your decision clear and there will be a line of hunks who will stand at your wedding ceremony. You’ve got the right choice of who will be your male dude that will complete your groomsmen. But of course, the decision making is not yet over, you have to decide about what are the best gifts for groomsmen.
There are still many grooms who are tired hunting, stocked inside the gift store yet doesn’t have any special thing to wrap for their groomsmen. For them, choosing wedding gifts for their groomsmen is tremendous headache and a traumatic experience. However, you might get surprised because, believe or not, there are happy grooms who are wise enough and find that selecting gifts for groomsmen is a no-sweat assignment at all. These wise grooms have tricks, and these are not so difficult, though. They want to give thanks and show their deep appreciation to their supportive groomsmen without grinding their mind.
Traditionally, groomsmen are thanked and appreciated by means of groomsmen gifts. A special gift to each of these man is enough to make them feel special. Although, they are not asking for something in return, or something extravagant that can break your bank, it is always nice to end your party by thanking your best buds by giving special gifts. After all, they’ve been there for you through good times and bad times. You can never go wrong of giving unique groomsmen gifts. And what often makes the unique gifts greatly appreciated are their one of a kind touch. Today, there are traditional groomsmen gifts that if made personalized, turns to be a unique gift that any man can’t say no of having it. Consider personalized groomsmen gifts such as engraved barware, money clips, cufflinks, pocket watches and pocket knives.
Personalized groomsmen gifts are an idea choice to greatly express your gratitude. This way, each of your groomsmen can get their own football helmet or elegant cufflinks personalized. However, it takes a little to choose the right gifts that reflects their type of personality, likes, hobbies and interests. But having done that, you can then go to the next step and that is adding their initials or name and your wedding date to it. You may also include your own personal thank you message for your buddies. Seem to be bored about initials and a date? Why not their first and last name or perhaps their job title? You can be as creative as long as you want for there are no limits other than you imagination.
Above all this, it is important to give gifts for groomsmen that they will like most. But, this doesn’t mean you’ll have to spend too much. There are many choices that won’t require a fortune from you. Consider shopping online, or buy in bulk. For example, buying similar pocket knives can still be engrave, making personalized and unique gifts. You may also consider embroidered, unique wedding gifts such as cooler bags, chairs, neck ties, or sports and weekender bag, etc.

What was the best groomsmen gifts you ever saw or received?
My fiancé is looking for something great to give his groomsmen that they will actually use and appreciate. They are all really fun guys who love music and they all do drink but we’d like to get them something original. Not just a money clip, flask or cuff links…any ideas? If you found a good website let me know too.

haha, i’m not into the money clips or flasks and stuff either.
If he’s really close to them, he could go the personal route (mabye at least with his best man). Check out this site for the relationship journals:

Definitely original!

That would certainly be good for someone who likes to drink!

My husband gave his groomsmen nice pocket/hunting knives engraved with their names. They all loved them! Just keep in mind that if any of them are flying home, they won’t be able to take a knife home in their carry-on luggage, so you might want to provide them with a padded envelope and postage so they can mail it home.

a friend of mine’s hubby gave all the guy’s engraved baseball bats (wooden) – which was a really good gift since he played on softball leagues with many of them. personally, i know your supposed to give something engraved or personalized but that stuff usually just gets thrown in a drawer – its different, but i think a gift certificate to somewhere would be much more appreciated and actually get used. yeah, they wouldn’t have an object to remember someones special day, but its not ‘their’ special day so in the long run they aren’t going to care to remember it. just my opinion.

I don’t know how original it is, but my fiance got a Citizen watch for being best man in his brother’s wedding. He loved it.
For our wedding, we are going to be giving the bridal party nice sunglasses. We liked this idea because it’s something they can actually use.

My nieces husband gave his groomsmen engraved axes.
They were all outdoor types that would appreciate a good ax.
Her cousin was the minister and having been at the rehersal dinner where they were given was very proud of himself for not making any commit during the service about "Cutting to the point" or "ax murderers".

When my brother got married his wife went with the stereotypical bridesmaid gifts and wanted him to get engraved beer steins for the groomsmen, but my brother procrastinated until it was too late. The day of the rehearsal dinner he went to Sharper Image and bought them some $50 dollar gadget. She flipped out and thought it was so tacky, but at the rehearsal dinner after they gave out gifts, I will never forget all those boys standing in a circle playing with their gadgets just so excited as if it was Christmas! My suggestion, if you don’t want one of those typical wedding party gifts, just pick a price point and go shopping at cool stores with your fiance. Odds are, if he thinks something is super cool, so will they.

We got ours Ugly Sticks (unbreakable fishing rods) and a guided trip for bass with the groom one weekend. They were all the outdoorsy type who loved to fish….except one. He got a gift certificate to GameStop since the guy was currently obessed with his new Xbox 360.
The point is to think about each person individually and what they like. Ask yourself…."would I get this for their birthday/Christmas?" If the answer is NO you need to keep looking.

My husband was best man in his friends wedding last year and he got an awesome gift. The groom got him a tray of chips from his favorite casino, and put it in one of those acrylic lock boxes real casinos use to transport them in. My husband could barely contain himself he was so excited. It’s really nice you want to cater to their personalities…what about concert tickets or something equally musical.
