Seiko SRP031k1 watch review

Amateur review of my absolute favorite watch in my collection. I originally bought this watch as an affordable alternative to a Sinn or Lum-Tec or Bell & Ross and similar “Pilot Watches” of that style, which i love. As i saved up a little more money, i often considered replacing my Seiko with a Sin 656 or Lum-Tec M series. However, i always end up thinking, “Why? Why pay hundreds of dollars more for basically the same watch?” The Lum-Tecs even use Japanese Miyota movements (at least, the ones that i can afford). And Sinn uses Swiss ETA movements. I would much rather have a high quality, affordable watch, with a similar, yet original design, from a reputable watchmaker, with an in-house movement. And that’s exactly what the Seiko SRP031k1 is. I plan on using this watch for as long as it keeps ticking.

Citizen Dive Watch Review: Aqualand 20th Anniversary, Part 2

In this video I give a demo of the Citizen Aqualand 20th Anniversary model in dive mode. You’ll see what the display looks like as the watch descends and ascends in a simulated dive. Also shown in action are depth alarm, ascent rate alarm, and the surface mode and the dive log screens. I simulated diving by building a simple pressurized rig for the watch. Good fun.

Unboxing unique Christopher Ward’s C60 Trident GMT watch

Here is the first sight of my “one and only” C60 Trident GMT that I ordered quite beffore 2010 Christmas, being promised a quick delivery. Not quite…

At the time I’ve spoken to Chirs (Ward) and he agreed to build this watch for me by blending the two GMT’s available: the GMT Pepsi’s posage that has white dotted dial into a case featuring a normal GMT bezel. So I guess this watch is quite unique since this model is not normally availalbe at CW store.

The watch features the GMT ETA 2893-2 inside having all CW mods and decorations on the rotor (tough I didn’t opened it yet ). The dial style with the wave pattern was clearily inspired from Omega 300M Seamaster having the hour-minute hands a la Bremont Supermarine (Mr Ward is british after all).
The GMT hand is again taken from Seamaster but was prolonged a bit more which was a good idea, if they would’ve made it a little thicker at the arrow end would be even better in my opinion.

The case itself seems to be the same one used in all Ward’s C6x series like the Kingfisher and such, the finish and the dial makes the difference.

The Pros:
-Good watch.
-Bezel is not too sturdy not too loose. The well known coin style which prooved to be a good choice for a diver watch.
-The accuracy of this watch was amazing. It only gains 1 seconds in 5 days – out of the box. When my watch was delaying to be despatched, Chris told me that this is due my watch being on “timing machines” for a few days, he he. Now I comprehend the true meaning of this .
-Good 300 WR. Like the Seamaster – remember? Well, this will make me forget the Trieste in the drawer when I’ll go for a scuba dive sometimes.

The cons:
-The lume was a bit of dissipointing, if this watch would have Superluminova C3 could be my winner. I know, is just me.
-This watch is a diver, but the leather band is not waterproof just cheap knock-off italian leather. Of course, there’s a steel bracelet and a clumsy rubber band available, but if this is a diver then the leather band must be also in the theme.

This game features numerous car makers like Aston Martin, Audi, GM, Gillet, Honda, Seat, Mosler, Mini, Volvo, Caterham, Radical and GUMPERT! Just like Top Gear made fun of, the Gumpert sports car is in the game (Stig is innocent). Drive Formula one F1 open wheel cars and in FIA Championship races on real race tracks like Laguna Seca, Monza, Brno Circuit, Grand Prix Macau, Brands Hatch, Porto and more… but not Rainbow Road. This game is perfect for fans of straight up, no nonsense driving video games. Drive in different championship races and in a career mode, single player and Xbox live support. Features logos from WTCC and International Masters F3000 on the packaging, there’s really tons to do in this game and it looks and plays great. Classic Game Room loves driving games and this one is pretty rock solid, although lacking some of the complex details and fancy features found in Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5. Race Pro features Xbox achievement points that are fun to collect by earning pole positions and winning races on professional expert level. Race Pro has crash damage that affects performance, although I don’t think it’s the highlight of the game. Race Pro has cockpit view driving and numerous other camera angles. Anyway, this is a cool game that you’ll enjoy if you are in the market for a new driving game with some unique and exciting track designs for the Xbox 360.
